SPECIFICATIONS:

GENERAL

The SC-20 shall be a multiple purpose leaf vacuum system designed to accomplish a wide range of tasks. This versatility is possible because the Heavy Duty trailer incorporates a dump body and hoist. By removal of the leaf box from the unit, the trailer has the capability and use of a 12 ft. dump body. The SC-20 Plus is a 20 Cubic Yard machine.

POWER

Power for the SC-20 is provided by a 4 cylinder Motor (4045 John Deere/3054 Caterpiller/Cummins B3.3 P). The power unit is mounted on a structural base. The engine is equipped with a 12VDC electrical system with starter, 65 Amp alternator, Heavy Duty battery, dry air cleaner, 40 gallon fuel tank, and muffler. Engine controls include: Start and stop switch, alternator warning light, temperature gauge with high temperature automatic shutdown, oil pressure gauge with an automatic low pressure shutdown, throttle control, and volt meter. The power unit has a PTO with an 11” Twin Disc clutch system. The motor shall have locking doors and the radiator must be hinged for easy cleaning. The engine has a auxiliary drive off of the flywheel.

(Option) POWER TRANSFER
The power take off is a 13SKFE Kraft Fluid Coupler.  This unit bolts directly to the flywheel housing.  The power mechanism of the fluid coupler bolts directly to the flywheel.  This eliminates any direct mechanical connection between the engine and the impeller.  The fluid is an ISO 32 and if the temperature of the fluid becomes high enough to damage any part of the power take off a drain plug will release the fluid protecting the power take off and the engine.  The shaft extending from the power take off is 2-1/4” manufactured from material with a 1030-carbon rating.

HYDRAULIC EQUIPMENT
Shall consist of a hydraulic pump mounted to the block of the motor with an SAE A style flange with not less than a 5 gallon per minute gear driven pump.  Not less than a 5.8 Gallon oil reservoir shall be mounted on the trailer frame between engine and blower housing. A high pressure hose to a flow control valve shall connect the pump, and this in return connected to a single section double acting control valve. (Option Power Parking Jack) There shall be one 2" diameter double acting cylinders with 16" chrome plated piston rods. This cylinder shall be attached to the superstructure by mean of power parking jack.

BOX CONTAINER
The SC-20 self-dumping Leaf Box Container is constructed of 1⁄4” structural angle and 12 gauge steel sheeting. The top of the box has at least (3) four foot sections of expanded steel mesh screens for efficient airflow. The rear door (gate) is attached to the top of the box by (3) hinged devices and allows easy opening for the discharge of leaves and debris. The hinges pivot at two points on each hinge.  The door (gate) is secured in the closed position by the dump body tailgate lever at the front of the dump body; this allows the operator to operate the door from a safe distance while dumping the trailer.  The box is raised for dumping by actuating the hydraulic valve located at the left front of the trailer. The box is attached to the dump body by bolts in the headboard and the pins at the rear of the body and is removable by removing the bolts and lifting the box at the lift eye locations on top of the box.

SUCTION IMPELLER
The impeller consists of (6) blades fabricated from 3/8” steel plate, AR400F material with a Brinell hardness exceeding 400.   The blades are electrically welded to a heavy duty hub with a 2 1/4” diameter mounting dimension and are gusseted (2) places behind each blade. The standard impeller is 30” diameter and 12 -1/2” width. All impellers are statically and dynamically balanced and have an approved blower capacity that is not less than 22,000 cubic feet per minute for a smooth operation.  Impellers can be rebalanced depending on the condition of the blade material.  Material Certification of fan hardness must be included.

TRAILER
The trailer is constructed of steel rectangular tubing, 3”x 8”x 1⁄4” wall. The running gear of the trailer consists of (3) 7,000# axles and leaf springs rated in excess of 21,000# GVW.  All wheels have electric brakes. The tires are 8 x 16 x 8PR or equivalent. The dump body is securely attached to the trailer frame and incorporates a Galion-Godwin Model PLD-14 body and a Model GS-615HD Class D (13 Ton) Mechanical Capability conversion double acting hoist for power up and power down. The body is equipped with a body prop for safety when working under the body. The unit is equipped with DOT lighting and the trailer is wired to A.T.A. standards. (Customer to provide schematic of towing vehicle lighting system at time of order if not A.T.A. 6-pole standard.)  Trailer must not be taller than 144”.

DUMP BODY

The sub-frame is constructed of steel rectangular tubing, 3”x 8”x 1⁄4” wall.

The sub-frame frame and incorporates a Galion-Godwin Model PLD-14. The body is 168” long, with an inside width of 84”, a side height of 13”, and a front height of 42”.  The floor is constructed of #10 gauge high tensile steel with a 2” radius to the sides.  The front head and sides are constructed of #10 gauge high tensile steel.  The side is braced with three tapered box braces per side with sloped running boards, dirt shedding top rails and full depth corner posts.  The dumb body sub-frame is stacked with cross-members on 15” centers.  The long-members are 7” 9.8 pound per foot channel with 3” 3.5 pound per foot channel cross-members.  The dump body tailgate is included and is 19” high.  It is constructed of #10 gauge high tensile steel.  The top and bottom hinge pins are 1-1/4” material. The Tailgate hook is 3/4” forged steel. Full and continuous welds on the body shell and tailgate. The body is equipped with a body prop for safety when working under the body. The unit is equipped with DOT lighting.

HOIST
A Model GS-515 Class C conversion double acting hoist for power up and power down.  The hoist is capable of lifting 13 tons with 18” overhang.  The cylinder has a 6” bore, 15” stroke, and a 2” diameter piston rod.  The hoist is powered from a gear driven pump on the engine.

BLOWER ASSEMBLY
The blower housing is constructed of #7 and #10 gauge steel with a 1/4” plate full wrap around replaceable, abrasive resistant liner. The liner is held in place by bolts.  The blower housing dimensions are 47” high, 45” long and 15” wide. The outlet section of the blower housing is 14” x 16” rectangular. The blower housing is volute in shape allowing more efficient airflow during suction. The blower housing is removable from the machine by bolts.  The suction inlet is mounted to the housing by two bolts to provide easy removal of the suction hose assembly. The blower is rated at 22,000 CFM minimum.

 

EXHAUST ASSEMBLY
The exhaust system is a long sweeping elbow that is welded to the front of the box container. The elbow is fitted over the exhaust section of the blower housing when the box container is in the lowered position. The end of the elbow is tapered to assure proper alignment over the blower housing exhaust.  The top plate of the exhaust tube is 3/16” material.

 

INTAKE HOSE
The intake hose is 16” diameter x 10ft. long and is attached to the inlet collar by quick acting nylon strapping clamps. The hose is constructed of wire wound reinforced urethane for ease of handling and offers excellent abrasive wear resistance. For ease of operating the utility hose, the operator’s handle assembly has an engine “kill switch bottom” is also located on the operator’s handle.

 

HYDRAULIC OVERHEAD HOSE BOOM
For ease of operating the utility hose, an electric over-hydraulic pump activates a hydraulic cylinder of at least 2”x 16” and connects to a tubular boom assembly. The operator’s hand assembly has “THUMB-TOUCH” control switch that raises or lowers the utility hand hose during the operation of leaf loader. An engine “kill switch bottom” is also located on the operator’s handle.

PAINT
Subassemblies are primed during assemble.  The finished machine is painted with an industrial coating.  The customer is invited to inspect and run the machine before is goes to final paint.

LIGHTING
Trailer is equipped with standard Stop, Turn, and Parking lights with a six or seven pole trailer connector. Trailer has reflectors at all four corners.

 

MANUALS
Engine, leaf machine’s parts and operator’s manual are included.

 

WARRANTY
Two year two year warranty on engine, parts and labor on the leaf machine.
